ABOUT CANVAS & CEDAR
Canvas & Cedar began as a simple idea: to create a space that celebrates the slower side of life. What started as a passion for cigars, plants, and local art has grown into a gathering place for conversation, creativity, and community — right here in Sabine County.

FAMILY TRADITION
What began as quiet moments between father and son became the heart of a family ritual. Stories were shared, lessons passed down, and time savored over a fine cigar. Each smoke was more than enjoyment; it was connection. That bond grew into a shared appreciation for the craft, the leaf, the roll, and the patience behind every draw. Today, that same spirit endures, honoring family, heritage, and the art of slowing down together.
ROOTED IN NATURE
A lifelong connection to the natural world has guided Aaron’s work. Earning a degree in Wildlife Biology from Texas State University and later working in environmental consulting, ornamental plant nurseries, and vineyard management have each deepened an understanding of how living systems communicate and adapt. Keeping green life nearby is a daily reminder of the exchange between plant and caretaker, growth sustained by shared attention and respect.

DOCUMENTING THE JOURNEY
Creativity found its focus through the lens of a camera — first capturing landscapes and wildlife, then turning toward the intricate world of plants. The work now centers on revealing patterns often overlooked in nature’s design. Printed on canvas fabric, each image carries an earthy texture that connects art back to the soil that inspired it.
